Covid-19 Prevention Procedures

At O’Donoghue Dermatology, our priority has always been the safety and wellbeing of our staff and patients, and that remains the case as we adapt to this new challenge.

To that end, we have implemented some new procedures designed to limit contact with and among patients and reduce the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus while maintaining the highest standard of care.

What we ask of you:

  • Don’t come in if you’re sick. Do not come in if you or any member of your household is experiencing any of the symptoms associate with Covid-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste or smell) or if you have been in contact with anyone known to have coronavirus during the 14 days prior to your appointment.
  • Call ahead if you need to cancel. If you are unable to come in, we ask that you call 941-926-7546 to reschedule your appointment, if possible 48 hours before the scheduled time.
  • Let us know you’re coming. All appointments must be confirmed. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your appointment, we may give your appointment to another patient.
  • Call when you get here. Once you arrive, call from your vehicle and remain in your vehicle until we call you back to let you know we are ready for you to come in. If you do not have a cell phone, call before you leave and we will make other arrangements for you.
  • Come in alone. Unless you require assistance from a companion, please come in alone.
  • Wear a mask. Everyone must wear a mask or face covering while inside the office.
  • Use hand sanitizer. Use the hand sanitizer by the front entrance when you come in.
  • Please arrive on time. These new procedures allow us to see fewer patients and that makes it harder to accommodate late arrivals so please arrive on time.

What we are doing:

  • Temperature checks. We will check your temperature (as well as the temperature of any companions) before escorting you to a treatment area. In turn, all staff member will have their temperatures taken daily. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4° F will be asked to leave.
  • Protective Equipment. All staff members will be wearing a surgical mask or another face covering and, if appropriate, goggles or face shields.
  • Instruments and treatment areas will be sterilized between patients using hospital-grade disinfectants and sterilization equipment. Non treatment areas, including countertops, doorknobs, faucets and toilet handles will be sanitized frequently throughout the day.

We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to place the safety and wellbeing of our staff and patients above all else.

Telehealth (virtual video visits) are available 7 days a week, please call our office to schedule 941-926-7546.
