Meet our Physician Assistants

Amy Hodge Fenenga, PA-C grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise with a minor in Chemistry at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.

During college and prior to her studies as a Physician Assistant, Amy worked as a medical assistant for a Dermatologist in Salem, Virginia. This is when she found a special interest in the field of Dermatology.

In 2001, Amy received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She then worked in an emergency room in Virginia Beach for a year before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina and then to Atlanta to practice Dermatology. Amy has practiced general Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery in Atlanta, Georgia for the past 11 years.

Amy is licensed by the Georgia and Florida Composite Board of Medical Examiners and maintains certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Florida Dermatology Physician Assistants organization.

While away from work, Amy's passion is travel. She has been to Europe, Mexico, Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. She also enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with her husband and little girl.

Sara T. Popovich, PA-C is a Board Certified Physician Assistant, who recently joined the practice. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Biology and a Pre-med concentration in 2000. She earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2005.

Her background and training is well diversified, including years of practice in general and advanced laparoscopic surgery, internal medicine and pediatrics, and dermatology. Dermatology is her passion, enabling her to incorporate all of her training into the treatment of the whole patient. Sara is trained in medical, surgical and aesthetic dermatology and enjoys all aspects of helping her patients.

Sara has an active license in both Virginia and Florida. She maintains her National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is actively involved in the Florida Association of Physician Assistants, the Virginia Association of Physician Assistants, Surgical Dermatological Physician Assistants and Florida Surgical Dermatological Society.

Sara was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She relocated to Florida to be closer to family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends on the water or at the beach...of course wearing sunscreen and protective clothing!
