Avoid Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States.

It is also the most preventable and, if diagnosed early, the most curable. Here are my top 10 skin cancer prevention tips:

1.    Wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more
2.    Do outdoor activities before 10 am or after 4 pm
3.    Reapply sunscreen after perspiring or swimming
4.    Wear protective clothing and hats
5.    Wear polarized sunglasses
6.    Avoid tanning and tanning beds
7.    Examine your skin monthly
8.    See your dermatologist regularly
9.    Make sure your dermatologist is board-certified
10.  Make sure your dermatologist examines you from head to toe.
